Notes
According to the Variety review, during the film's pre-released engagements (1921-22), George Beban and three other cast members gave a live stage presentation, elaborated from the original vaudeville sketch upon which the play (and the film?) were based; it was interspersed about reel 4, lasted approximately eighteen minutes minutes as against approximately 60 minutes of film, and took place in a florist shop set copied from one used in the film. The original play apparently combined film and live action, with the latter dominant. Beban starred in an earlier film based on the same source, the 1915 New York Motion Picture Corp. production entitled The Alien, produced and directed by Thomas H. Ince. In that version also, a live stage presentation was included at large theaters around the country.
