Synopsis

While his father, the maharajah, is serving as India's envoy to Great Britain, Prince Tagor learns British ways and even becomes a Church of England minister--to the maharajah's displeasure. Tagor goes to India as a missionary and asks his betrothed, Princess Indora, to wait for him. Indora succumbs to the attentions of Count Boris Voronsky, however, and, when Tagor suddenly returns, he marries them at Indora's request. Indora and Boris are still honeymooning when Countess Dagmar reveals that Boris is her husband, and Tagor accedes to his father's desire for vengeance. Believing that Indora loves Boris, he spares the count's life in a duel, but Indora afterward spurns Boris and accidentally causes his death. Tagor and Indora declare their love for each other.
