Synopsis

Frank Borden, who is suffering from tuberculosis, goes West for his health, where he meets and falls in love with Nan Christy. On a long walk, Frank faints and is discovered on the road by Pete Morton, a robber who closely resembles him. Pete nurses Frank until the sick man's health is restored, after which Frank, hoping to repay Pete for his kindness, agrees to provide his double with an alibi by making himself highly visible in town whenever Pete is committing a crime. One day, however, when Frank visits the Christy home not knowing that Nan's father Simon has been robbed and shot in the arm, the old man identifies him as the robber. The townspeople are about to lynch Frank when the sheriff receives word that Pete, the real robber, has just been shot in attempting to cross the border. His name cleared, Frank pledges his love to Nan.
