Synopsis

When the sheriff of Red Rock awards the most beautiful baby award to his own child, Jack Rawlins, a stranger, intervenes and gives the prize to an orphaned baby. The sheriff recognizes Jack as a bandit wanted for the robbery of a bullion train. Jack runs away, taking the baby with him. Not knowing how to care for the child, whom he names Bill, Jack travels back to town without regard for the posse that is searching for him. He asks Alice, a young woman from the town, to teach him how to pin a diaper. Jack encounters the posse on his way home but escapes. When Bill gets ill, Jack kidnaps a doctor to help him and the doctor advises Jack to find a woman to nurse the child. Jack tries to pay the doctor for his services, but he agrees to accept the fee only on the condition that he will start a bank account for Bill in town. Jack sends the doctor back to town on his own horse, Starlight, and the doctor advises the sheriff to follow the horse back to Jack's hideout. Hearing this, Alice takes Starlight and he brings her to Jack's hideout. Having fallen in love with Alice, Jack asks her to marry him and Bill. He then gives himself up to the sheriff, but will rejoin Alice when he is free.
