Synopsis
Patsy, an orphan and a tomboy, runs away from the woman who has adopted her to do most of the work on her farm. She wends her way cross-country to California, has many adventures and mishaps, and meets a kindly scientist, who, believing her to be a boy, takes her home with him. Theirs is a tough neighborhood, and Patsy must fight her way into the local gang, but she earns the urchins' respect and is elected their leader. Finally, Patsy foils the plot by several crooks to involve her benefactor in a swindling scheme and reunites the scientist with his daughter.
