Synopsis
Having made a fortune in South Africa and retired to the English countryside, John Van Ryn is visited by Keith Brooke, a close friend from the veld. Keith and John's wife, Elaine, are in love, but neither betrays the passion. Keith soon returns to Africa and becomes a derelict; Van Ryn also returns to the dark continent in an effort to help put down a native rebellion led by Ulambo, his sworn enemy. Van Ryn is killed by Ulambo, and Keith and Elaine are at last free to find happiness with each other.
