Synopsis

Tom Greene, a swaggering broker's messenger, is fired from his job just as he and his sweetheart, Patsy, put the first down payment on what is to be their honeymoon cottage. Patsy, a dancer at the Kit Kat Club, is introduced that evening to Powers, Tom's former boss, and gets some inside information on a stock deal. The following day, Tom gets a note from a law firm authorizing him on behalf of an unknown client (Patsy) to buy and sell a certain stock at a certain price. Tom does so and makes a killing; other deals follow, and Tom becomes arrogant and vain. He later finds Patsy and Powers together, and suspecting the worst, he spurns her and turns to drink and dames for consolation. Patsy tells Tom that she herself has been his client and then has Powers ruin him in the market. Greatly chastened, Tom returns to Patsy, and they prepare to live together on love and dreams.
