Synopsis

Richard Williams, a Texan, and Lord Croyland, an agent of the British government, arrive together in America from England. When Croyland is hurt in an auto accident, Richard volunteers to deliver his friend's negotiations for a munitions contract to Renwyk, a munitions manufacturer. Renwyk mistakes Richard for Croyland, and when Richard meets Renwyk's daughter Harriet, he brazenly accepts the role. Soon after, Richard's father, Bill Williams, who is Croyland's competitor for the arms contract, decides to visit Renwyk. Meanwhile, Richard, in an effort to shield Harriet from what he believes to be a clandestine affair, allows Fitzgeorge, the man who has just robbed Renwyk's safe, to escape. Renwyk accuses Richard of burglary just as Bill arrives. Bill is furious, but Richard is later exonerated when Imogene, Harriet's cousin, admits that Fitzgeorge was blackmailing her. Richard, his real identity now established, proposes to Harriet.
