Synopsis
Don Sebastian, the premier of Portugal, puts a price on the head of Ricardo Madons, a royalist who is accused of treason. Madons is violently in love with Lola Montez, a singer and actress, and kidnaps her when she will not come with him of her own free will. He forces her to marry him but does not hold her to her wedding vows. Don Sebastian, who is also in love with Lola, persuades her to lead Madons into a trap. As the royalist is about to be captured by the soldiers, however, Lola realizes her love for Madons and, at the cost of being wounded, saves his life. They flee together over the border to Spain, where Madons nurses Lola back to health and happiness.
