Synopsis

Joan, an apache dancer in a Paris nightclub, falls in love with Paul Dubois, an aristocratic sculptor, and asks him to help her become a good girl. She becomes a lady, and Paul falls in love with her. When Joan later sees him with another woman, her affection turns to rage, and she encourages Lupin, the leader of a gang of thieves, to steal a string of pearls from Paul's mother and to murder Paul. Paul is stabbed by one of Lupin's gang, and the pearls are stolen; but Joan's triumph is hollow, for she discovers that the woman she saw with Paul is his sister. Joan repents and arranges for Lupin to return the pearls; Joan sees Paul in church, and they are thus reunited.
