Synopsis

Jennie Hagen, a stagestruck waitress in a diner, is in love with the cook, Orme Wilson, who has a weakness for actresses. The Water Queen, a showboat, arrives, and Orme falls for the leading lady, Lillian Lyons. Jennie tries to win him back by taking a correspondence course in acting. Buck, the manager of the show, gives her a chance, billing her as "The Masked Marvel" in a boxing fight with Lillian. The exhibition disgusts Orme; and Jennie, in despair, jumps overboard. Orme comes to her rescue; they are reconciled and later open up their own diner.
