Synopsis

After foundry man Tod Burke seriously injures himself while saving the foundry's owner, multi-millionaire Peter Garton, from being crushed to death, Garton oversees Tod's recovery, and then adopts him, against the wishes of his snobby sister Cornelia. When Tod comes to call on his sweetheart, Janet Muir, in a new automobile, her father Angus forbids him to return because of his long standing feud with Garton which began when Angus, who would not sell his small foundry to Garton, was ruined by Garton's fierce competition. To help Janet support Angus, Tod, now the third assistant to the second vice-president, hires her as his stenographer. When Cornelia, who has been frustrated with Tod's showings at social functions, and Garton, catch Tod and Janet practicing the latest dance steps in his office, Garton fires her. After Tod admonishes Garton and quits, Angus learns what happened and goes to give Garton a caning, but Tod and Janet succeed in reconciling them for the sake of their love.
