Synopsis
Dennis O'Hara, a spirited young Irishman who is a constant source of annoyance to J. Francis Jackson, the town's leading citizen, beats Jackson each year in the annual horse race until Jackson acquires the winning horse in a gambling game. Simon Silverberg and his daughter, Jessica, arrive in town and try to sell clothing, but the men, led by Jackson, drive them from town. Dennis intervenes on their behalf and takes them to his cabin. When Dennis earns the money to buy back his horse and Jackson refuses to sell it, Dennis steals the horse; later, Dennis returns to find Jackson virtually in control of the town and wagering his fortune against Simon that he will win the annual race. Jackson conspires to prevent Dennis from winning, and after much difficulty with the other riders, Dennis beats Jackson's rider and then whips Jackson. Dennis and Jessica are united.
