Synopsis

Chick McGuire and Arline Warner are in love, but Arline's father, who owns the large cattle ranch on which Chick works as a ramrod, opposes the marriage and demands instead that Arline marry Cecil Aubrey, the son of an old friend in the East. When Chick and Arline make plans to elope, they are overheard by Cecil, who plots to kidnap the lovers with the help of Blink Dudley, a fence-cutting sheepman whom Chick once overcame in a fight. By treachery and violence, Blink and Cecil kidnap Chick and Arline and take them to a cabin in the mountains. Chick is tied up and forced to watch a mock marriage between Cecil and Arline, presided over by Blink. Chick frees himself and knocks out Cecil, but Blink escapes. Chick sends Arline back to the ranch with Cecil and follows Blink into the desert. Blink gets the drop on Chick at a poisoned waterhole, but Chick distracts his attention by imitating a rattler and shoots him in the arm. Chick takes Blink back to the Warner ranch, Cecil is sent home in disgrace, and Pop Warner gives his permission for Chick and Arline to marry.
