Synopsis
Dick Williams, who has just inherited the Bar M Ranch, saves Joan Avery, the sheriff's daughter, when her horse bolts after it is frightened by a timber wolf. Robert Barlow, the town moneylender, steals a substantial sum of money from Keller and arranges for Dick to be framed for the theft. When Keller meets up with Dick, the men get into a fight, during which Barlow shoots and kills Keller. Dick is blamed for the murder and is arrested by the sheriff, who, believing in Dick's innocence, allows him to escape. The deputy sheriff proves Barlow to have been Keller's murderer, but the hangman is cheated, for John Martin, who has been looking for Barlow during the past 18 years, finds him and, in an attempt to strangle him, knocks him off a cliff.
