Synopsis
After being away from Sulfur Springs for 10 years, Virginia Weatherford returns home from college. She is shocked to discover that her mother, running a hotel with a rough clientele, has become as hardened and tough as her roomers. Virginia falls in love with Ross Cavanagh, a forest ranger who reconciles her to her new life. Cavanagh runs afoul of Sam Gregg, a cattle baron, who resents the new government tax on all cattle grazed on public land. Gregg sends his men to persuade Cavanagh, by whatever means necessary, to ignore the new tax. There is a pitched battle, and Virginia helps Cavanagh fight off Gregg's men. After enforcing the tax, Cavanagh returns to the East, taking Virginia and her mother with him.
