Synopsis

When teacher Mollie Andrews goes to Montana, she meets and falls in love with Westerner Dan Clark, unaware of his bad character. After they marry, however, Dan's true nature surfaces: he abuses Mollie, kills a man, and then flees across the border to Canada. Mollie moves to another town and after a year, even though she and Constable Calhoun have fallen in love, she still remains loyal to her husband. When Dan turns up, Mollie makes Calhoun promise that he will not harm Dan unless her husband strikes the first blow. Despite Dan's taunts, Calhoun remains firm until Dan attacks him. A struggle ensues, during which Dan is killed, thus releasing Mollie from her marriage vows and enabling her to have a future with Calhoun.
