Synopsis

Fred Stewart slaves for 2 years on the isolated island of Lamu Vita to send Charlotte Guest, a chorus girl, money for their future together. Meanwhile, Charlotte is approaching stardom through the efforts of her manager, Tom Malloy, and by means of Stewart's hard-earned money--while at the same time keeping reckless young Bob Bernard on the string. When she tells Bob she is already married to a beachcomber in the Western Carolines, Bob dramatically announces he will hunt Stewart down and kill him unless he agrees to a divorce. Stewart, shocked by her infidelity, decides to remain on the island and drink away his memories. Bob arrives and, when stricken with fever, is cared for by Stewart. Together they plan revenge on the girl, whom they entice to the island; both, however, are intermittently swayed by her charms, and when they fight, she attempts to drown herself. Stewart rescues her, and following Bob's departure, they find happiness together.
