Synopsis

Tom, the new foreman of the Butterworth ranch, takes an interest in Phyllis, the boss's daughter, but Butterworth, who brings in a prospective son-in-law, orders Tom off the ranch. Tom, however, plans secretly to elope with Phyllis. Meanwhile, Poindexter arranges with Tough Ryder, an outlaw, to kidnap Phyllis so that he (Poindexter) may "rescue" her. Ryder holds up Knight, an itinerant patent-medicine man, and his assistant, a colored boy dressed in a suit of armor; and disguising himself with the armor, Ryder manages to evade the sheriff. Tom, learning of the kidnaping, arrives at Ryder's secret cabin in time to rescue Phyllis from the forced attentions of Poindexter; and as a result, he is accepted by her father as a son-in-law.
