Mary Lucille Smith is expelled from a fashionable boarding school when John Chiverick is found in her room during a midnight party. In desperation she elopes with him, but her father has the marriage annulled. Two years later, Mary returns from Europe, is introduced as Mrs. Lucille Smith, a widow, and falls in love with Larry McLeod. At a houseparty, the efforts of Lucille and Chiverick to keep the latter's new wife and Larry from finding out about their first marriage lead to complications.
