Synopsis

The evidence proves that Hanlin Davis murdered a man, but Clinton Hastings, the district attorney, is willing to forego a conviction if Thora, Hanlin's wife, sleeps with him. Thora agrees, but when her husband, after his acquittal, discovers what she has done, he insists on a divorce. Unable to earn a living, Thora becomes a kept woman, moving from millionaire to millionaire. Then, she begins a romance with Robert Blake, who is running for district attorney against Clinton. After Robert wins the election, an embittered Clinton tells him all about Thora's past. Stunned, Robert breaks off their relationship, after which Thora decides to kill herself. Finally, however, Robert realizes that her past is unimportant, so he stops Thora from committing suicide and then is reconciled with her.
