Synopsis

Steve Donkin, an embittered sailor, anchors his two-masted schooner off Apia and goes ashore for a little fun with Rose, a prostitute plying her trade in a waterfront dive; Rose is ordered to leave the island by the police and persuades Steve to take her to Shanghai. In mid-Pacific, Steve's schooner sinks, and he, Rose, and a Swedish sailor are cast adrift in a small boat. The sailor tries to kill Steve and is knocked overboard; close to death, Steve and Rose fall in love. They are rescued by a passing ship and fall into the hands of a mutinous crew. Donkin puts down the mutiny and rescues Barbour, the ship's captain.
