Synopsis

While touring in India, Richard Duvall, a noted criminologist, encounters pretty Grace Ellicott, who is vacationing with the Countess D'Estes, her wealthy aunt. Later, in England, the adulterous Count D'Estes murders his wife with the help of the housekeeper and illegally obtains her fortune. While gazing into a crystal ball given to him by a Buddhist priest, Duvall sees Grace and divines the crime committed by the count. To prove his suspicions, Duvall solicits the aid of Grace in trapping the killers. Purtab Gar, an Indian cohort who has been hired as a servant in the D'Estes home, plants dozens of notes that read "I want one million dollars - Victor Gerard." Disguised as Gerard, Duvall visits the count, who unwittingly notifies the police of his arrival. After securing the million dollars, Duvall escapes, saves Grace from poisoning and forces a confession from the housekeeper and D'Estes.
