Synopsis
Jean, the wife of wealthy sportsman George Taylor, indulges her taste for high style and fashion and not only neglects her husband but leaves her young daughter, Jean, to the sole care of her governess. As George drives down Fifth Avenue, he meets Mae, an attractive widow whose apparent loneliness and sympathy for Taylor bring them together. When gossip reaches Jean, she realizes her neglect but is too late to prevent her husband from obtaining a divorce. Five years later, Mrs. Taylor, who has given up fashion in devotion to her child, Jean, saves the girl from the wiles of Maurice, a professional dancer, by becoming a rival against her own daughter; when she is shot by Maria, the dancer's partner, she is reunited with her husband, and Jean learns the true character of Maurice.
