Synopsis

Sally, a waitress in a hash house, meets Walter, the younger son of an English nobleman, whom she believes is a lord. Walter does not disillusion Sally about his true identity, and she falls for the "nobleman," causing Bill, her old suitor, to become jealous. Bill, a crook, schemes to destroy Sally's new friendship by hiring Clara, a fellow crook, to pretend that she is a lady and steal Walter away from Sally. Walter meets Clara, falls for the scheme, and discards Sally. One night, when Sally is working at a dinner party, she sees Clara with Bill and, unable to face them, goes off to cry in the smoking room. There she sees Bill sneak in and cut the electrical wires; and while the place is in darkness, Clara steals her hostess' necklace. Sally then denounces Clara as a thief, revealing the siren's true colors to Walter. After his brother dies, Walter becomes a true lord, and Sally agrees to be his bride.
