Synopsis

Sadie O'Malley, a child of the tenements, has heard of the wonders of heaven and is anxious to go there. Seeing a limousine standing in front of a laundry, Sadie thinks it may be a chariot from heaven and, taking her dog, George Washington Square, she climbs into the laundry basket and is delivered to the home of Mrs. Welland Riche. Mrs. Riche is away on a trip and when the servants find Sadie, they believe that she is another one of their employer's fads, and dress her in pretty clothes. When Mrs. Riche returns, she is won over by Sadie, but refuses to allow her to keep her dog. After informing Mrs. Riche that she will not give up her dog for all the heavens, Sadie returns home, telling her mother that she had been to heaven but could not stay because they did not allow dogs.
