Synopsis
Chick Slater, a newspaper reporter, is assigned to write a feature article about a bootlegger who has applied modern business methods to rumrunning, and during his investigations he discovers that several high city officials have been providing the bootlegger with protection for his illegal activities. Chick writes up the facts, but the bootlegger uses his influence to have the story killed. Chick then quits his job and goes to work for a crusading independent daily. The story is printed, and the paper plays a major part in breaking up the bootlegging ring.
