Synopsis

Johnny Burke, a breezy cowboy, discovers a valuable mine and forms a partnership with Adele Butler, the daughter of an old prospector who believes that it is he who found the mine. When they learn that Adele is rich, the conniving Van Pelt Butlers invite her to visit them in the East, where they encourage her to marry the bogus Earl of Barncastle and in various ways try to swindle her out of her fortune. Johnny comes East to investigate his suspicion that investor John Bryson is also attempting to cheat Adele, and soon he puts all of the crooks to flight. Adele, who had begun to disdain Johnny for his lack of Eastern polish, realizes her shortsightedness and returns to the West as his wife.
