Synopsis

The night before the premiere of Bob Brady's play, he is asked to rewrite the last act. On his way to the producer's apartment, Bob is accused of having stolen a fat man's watch and hides from the pursuing mob in the entrance to a jeweler's store, where he becomes acquainted with June Craig. Bob reaches the producer's apartment and is typing away when Slicky, the burglar, jimmies open the producer's liquor stock and drinks generous samples. From her apartment, June sees him; and believing that Bob is the burglar, she forces him into her own apartment, while awaiting the police. Numerous complications ensue: Slicky steals June's necklace, but when he takes refuge in a room with a baby, the pearls disappear. Bob convinces June of his innocence and decides to incorporate his experience into his play.
