Synopsis

Waitress Mary Ryan loses her job, and Leon O'Day, a theatrical agent, obtains work for her in the chorus of a traveling show. Leon and his partner, Turner, induce Seymour, a young society man, to finance a new show, and they tell Seymour that Mary is a Russian princess though incognita; her impersonation completely fools Seymour, and she gets the contract. Seymour's mother invites Mary to tea, and she becomes a society sensation. Mrs. Seymour, interested in social reform, accompanies her son and Mary to the night court where Mary's missing sister, Rose, is brought in under arrest. Mary claims her sister and is denounced by Mrs. Seymour as a designing hussy. Seymour is later apologetic, but Mary realizes that she has actually loved Leon all the while.
