Synopsis

When Lois Le Moyne comes to his office to give him a pair of moccasins, Angus McConnell, the head of a Hudson Bay trading post, mistakes her motives and has her thrown in jail on a burglary charge. Then, company inspector Richard Sylvester comes to the post and immediately falls in love with the imprisoned Lois. As a result, he fires Angus, and frees Lois with plans to marry her. Before the wedding, however, an epidemic hits the area, and Richard, turning coward, runs away. Then, deciding to make a human sacrifice to appease the gods who brought the plague, the Indians attack the outpost. Angus offers himself, but before he can be burned at the stake a storm comes, which the Indians interpret as a divine command to retreat. Afterward, Angus comes to his senses about Lois, and marries her.
