Synopsis
Marion Dunbar, a poor girl interested in pretty clothes, attends a fashion show with her hard-working sister Rose and there meets Russell Thorpe, a wealthy young man, and Philip Bennett, whom Russell's father has secretly appointed to see that he does not become romantically entangled. Russell pursues Marion, who is infatuated, but Thorpe, Sr., arranges for Bennett to compromise the girl by having her accept an expensive gown as a gift. When Russell and Marion decide to marry, he takes her to meet his father, who receives her in a fury; and Russell is led to believe that Marion took the dress from Bennett for reprehensible reasons. After a quarrel, she leaves him; but they meet again at the bedside of her dying mother when Russell is persuaded to pose as Marion's husband, and the lovers are reconciled.
