Synopsis
A portrayal of the Eskimo way of life, which focuses on a family consisting of father, mother, and two grown daughters and on several small boys and two young trappers. There is an effort to give some continuity to the sequences with the courtship of a daughter by rival trappers, but the emphasis is on the daily struggle for existence in the Arctic wastes--including scenes of hunting a polar bear on ice floes, 'hand-to-hand' combat with the bear, and a walrus hunt.
