Synopsis
Inventor Al Simpkins develops a new airplane fuel, "Economo," which he claims gets a thousand miles to the pint. During a trial flight he sees his sweetheart, Stella Hearns, motoring with the wealthy and dishonest Silas Smythe. Using a ropeladder, Al rescues Stella when Smythe's automobile goes out of control. Just before the "Economo" demonstration flight, Smythe steals Simpkins' special fuel and refills the tank with gasoline, causing Simpkins to crash land. Stella finances the next venture, a huge monoplane with a full tank of Economo. Smythe steals the formula for Economo and uses this fuel in his airplane. Discovering their loss, Simpkins and Stella chase Smythe in the monoplane. Dropping to Smythe's airplane on a ropeladder, Al retrieves his formula. He returns to his plane, wins the race and, naturally, Stella.
