Synopsis

Spider O'Day and Sharkey Nye, two bad men, flee the sheriff and his posse into Death Valley and soon grow mistrustful of each other. They stumble onto Jack Belcher's little cabin and mine, watched over by Rex, a wild horse whose special mission is to protect Toby, Jake's foster daughter. They plot to jump Belcher's claim, but O'Day has a change of heart when he falls for Toby. The enraged killer, Nye, suggests a game of checkers to settle the dispute; although O'Day wins, Nye shoots him and proceeds to do away with Belcher and attack Toby, but Rex comes to the rescue and kills the villain. O'Day recovers and is happily united with the girl.
