Synopsis

Small town busybodies start gossiping when Ruth, the daughter of respected farmer Abner Blake, becomes friendly with Tom Silverton, an alcoholic with a shady past. Believing the rumors about his daughter's illicit affair with Tom, Abner throws Ruth out of the house. Tom goes looking for her, and just as he finds her, word comes that Abner's farm has caught fire. Ruth and Tom rush to the farm, rescue Abner and his wife Rachel, and then help put out the fire. Afterward, a repentant Abner asks for, and receives, forgiveness from both Ruth and Tom.
