Synopsis

After 2 years of marriage, farmer's wife Hester Taylor tires of her life of hardship and accepts an invitation from Mark Rutherford to visit the city. (The train Mark is riding, the "Six-Fifty," has crashed near her house.) Dan Taylor, sensing the impending loss of his wife, decides to lure her back by becoming a powerful member of his community. He opens a creamery with money given to him as a result of the train crash, and Hester, unable to cope with her hectic city life, returns happily to him.
