Synopsis

Preaching a doctrine of selfishness and hedonism, Wilhelm Schumann's tome Myself becomes a best seller and makes a fortune for the obscure philosopher. Then, his children, Elsa and Bertie, read the book and turn into such devout followers that the former becomes George Marvin's kept woman, while the latter rapes Hope, a family servant. Incensed, Hope's father murders all of the Schumanns, after which Wilhelm wakes up and realizes that he had dreamed about the publication of the book, as well as the events which it triggered. Actually, Myself is still only in the planning stages, but taking the dream as an omen, Wilhelm burns his manuscript.
