Synopsis
Peggy Warren, who is in love with schoolmate Richard Deane, is unaware that her mother, Katherine, leads a dual life as Texas Kate, owner of a notorious nightclub, though her jazzy roommate, Vivian Stewart, recognizes the mother on a visit. Jealous of Richard's attentions to Peggy, Vivian insists that they all go to Texas Kate's on the night of the commencement dance; stunned by the revelation, Peggy leaves home and moves to a dingy tenement, but Richard learns that Katherine has been forced to be a club hostess to secure Peggy's position in society. Vivian, learning of Peggy's whereabouts, informs her she is engaged to Richard, and Peggy replies that she is to marry Eugene Ward, a rounder. Richard and Mrs. Warren devise a plan to save Peggy from Ward, and all are happily reconciled.
