Synopsis
Kid Davis, girl-shy contender for the light heavyweight championship, bolts a party and starts home across Central Park, meeting on the way Madelena, a young Italian girl who has run away from home rather than marry a man she does not love. She insists on going home with The Kid and spends the night chastely in his apartment. The two fall in love, but Gleason, The Kid's manager, convinces Madelena that a match with The Kid is impossible. She sadly returns home, and The Kid goes into the ring, disheartened and unprepared. He is taking a bad beating when Madelena's brother comes to ringside and tells him that he must come and save Madelena from marriage to another man. The Kid then knocks out his opponent in nothing flat, goes to Madelena's home, stops the ceremony, and insists that it cannot continue unless he is the groom. It does, and he is.
