Synopsis

Marion Bates, tricked by Arthur Montrose into becoming an inmate of an insane asylum, escapes and falls in with a gang of crooks. She agrees to cook for them and is befriended by their leader, Jim Brennan. Marion runs away from the gang and collapses at the home of her friends, the Carters. The Carters realize that Montrose has swindled Marion and them out of their money, and Robert Carter, who has fallen in love with Marion, steals some incriminating papers from Montrose's home. Robert reveals the evidence to Montrose, who hires Jim and his gang to recover the papers. In the melee that ensues Jim sees Marion and realizes Montrose's purposes, recognizes Robert as the wartime commanding officer who saved his life, summons the police by radio, and is killed. Montrose dies, and Robert comforts Marion.
