Synopsis

Davey Jones, an old sailor looking for treasure buried in the desert, is forced into a fight with Hank Callahan, the town bully and brother-in-law of the sheriff. Bill intervenes in the fight, floors Hank, and, when Hank draws on him, shoots him in the shoulder. Bill then rides quickly out of town, followed closely by the posse, which he eludes by jumping his horse across a wide gorge. Bill is later mistaken by Mary Watkins for her long-lost brother. Bill continues with the impersonation in order to save Mary's ranch from the oil company, which has given her just 3 days to pay off a lien on her land. Bill decides to sell Mary's cattle to raise the necessary money, but his plan is overheard, and the cattle are stampeded over the edge of a deep gorge by the hired guns of a crooked attorney. Bill collects the money for the dead cattle from the attorney at the point of the gun, pays off the lien, reveals his true identity, and asks Mary to marry him. Davey Jones finds the buried treasure.
