Synopsis
Slats, a happy, harum-scarum girl of the mountains, and Peggy Blake, the unhappy, genteel wife of Colonel Blake, are twin sisters separated in infancy. Seeking excitement, Peggy goes to the hills, accidentally meets Slats, and persuades Slats to take her place while she pursues a theatrical career. Slats enjoys her role until the colonel's half brother, Jim, discovers the deception and tries to doublecross Blake with the information. On the day of the big horserace, Jim attacks Blake and disables his jockey, but Slats--facing arrest for the assault on Blake--escapes and rides the colonel's horse to victory. Learning of Slats's sacrifices and Peggy's death in a theater fire, Colonel Blake gladly accepts his "wife" as the real thing.
