Synopsis
When District Attorney Johnson is seemingly unable to break up a gang of dope smugglers, his assistant, Richard Jones, sets out on his own to investigate the lawbreakers. In the course of his snooping, he discovers that Bob Madison, his sweetheart's brother, is a drug addict, caught in the clutches of a gang. Richard is responsible for Bob's regeneration, and together they find that Greer, who is Richard's rival for the affections of Constance Madison, is, in fact, the proprietor of an opium den in Chinatown. Constance is kidnapped by Greer, and Richard rescues her from a narcotics hellhole in Chinatown. Richard proves that the D. A. is being bribed by the drug peddlers, and, as a reward for his good work, Richard is appointed the new district attorney.
