Synopsis
While traveling on the subway, three strangers--Tom Mannix, Rita, and Barbra Forrest--daydream to alleviate their loneliness. Tom, longing for female companionship, sees himself as a James Bond type protecting Barbra from a gang of sexual perverts. In his efforts to subdue the assailants, he is captured, seduced and tortured by the female leader of the gang and compelled to watch as an erotic operation is performed on Barbra. In Rita's daydream, she imagines that she and the man sitting next to her, Marco, are blackmailing an eminent politician by photographing him while he abuses Rita with a perfume bottle. Barbra, in reality a naive, inexperienced girl, fantasizes that her peaceful trip to the country is interrupted by the appearance of Tom, Rita, and Marco. Barbra watches Rita and Marco make passionate love; Barbra is raped by Tom and then whipped by Rita. Arriving at their subway stop, Rita and Marco, who have sized each other up, go off together, and Tom and Barbra, though both shy, have sufficiently communicated their feelings to do likewise.
