Synopsis
At Rocky Pass, Buck Logan and his men, Lefty and Chris, attempt to extort information about the location of the Albright gold mine from Buzz Davis and his father "Pap." When Pap refuses to tell Buck where the mine is located, Buck shoots and kills him. As he dies, Pap tells Buzz that the gold Buzz's grandfather mined from Albright is hidden either in the mine itself or in a nearby cabin. With Pap dead, Buck and Chris begin to harass Buzz, until Andy Wiggins comes to his rescue, scaring Buck and his men away. Buzz explains to Andy and his granddaughter, Sally Martin, what has happened. They decide to get the sheriff while Buzz vows to get the men who shot his father. Buzz and Andy join up as prospecting partners and decide to make a trip to the Albright mine. When Buck's boss, Matt Higgins, learns of the trip, he sends Buck and Chris after them. While Andy, Buzz and Sally are inside the mine, Buck and Chris claim ownership of the mine, which has reverted to public domain, by posting a notice above the entrance. At the cabin near the mine, Sally prepares dinner while Buzz explains that the emblems painted on the walls, a circle with an "A" inside, are supposed to indicate the spot where the gold is hidden. They notice that all the emblems point to a hidden closet, but Andy insists that the gold is hidden in the mine. Meanwhile, Buck reports his progress to Higgins, who says he will tell the sheriff to protect his claim. The sheriff visits the cabin and tells Buzz and Andy to stay away from the mine, but promises to make sure the claim is legitimate. Buck and Lefty go to the cabin and Buzz recognizes them as the men who killed his father. Buck punches Andy and threatens Buzz when Sally orders them out at gunpoint. After they have left, Buck and Lefty realize that the gold is hidden in the cabin because of the circle-A emblem. Later, Buck and Lefty return to the cabin, and attack Buzz and Andy. Andy is hurt and the thieves get away with the gold. Meanwhile, the sheriff has learned that the claim is questionable and decides to ride to the cabin. On the way, he meets the thieves, who have captured Sally and are abducting her. Buzz and Andy prevent the thieves from escaping, and Sally is rescued and the gold retrieved.
