Synopsis

As he departs for Europe, international crook Anthony Trent recognizes "William Smith," a former war comrade (believed to be dead) to whom Trent has confided his true identity. In England Colonel Langley refuses to divulge the man's true identity, and Trent later discovers papers in Langley's safe naming "Smith" as Arthur Grenvil, incriminated in a fraudulent scheme against his uncle, an earl. With the aid of Trent, Daphne, the boy's sister, destroys the evidence. Learning that the earl is being blackmailed by Count Michael Temesvar of Croatia, who threatens to expose a treaty between the two countries, Trent, under every possible handicap, manages to secure the treaty for the earl and is rewarded with an Australian ranch and the hand of Daphne.
