Synopsis

In his attempts to break up a gang of bootleggers, John Rogens, a trusted U. S. Government agent who lives and works in "the roaring forties," New York's Times Square district, is neglectful of his wife, Ruth. When Adelaide, a smartly dressed woman, moves into a neighboring apartment, Ruth strikes up a friendship, and through her friend she meets Cyler Bryson, a wealthy man who develops a liking for Ruth. Unaware of Bryson's association with the bootleggers, Ruth accepts an invitation from him but conceals this association from her husband. Adelaide becomes jealous, however, and informs Bryson's wife of the relationship. Meanwhile, John, who has secured evidence against the gang but not against Bryson, agrees to help Adelaide's sweetheart if she leads him to the mastermind. After arresting Bryson, whom he finds at a nightclub with his wife, John, realizing his neglect, is reconciled with Ruth.
