Synopsis

When the circus arrives in a small Massachusetts town, the citizenry is scandalized by Mazie Darnton, the "Queen of the Air," as she descends in a parachute wearing her pink tights. Mazie lands on the roof of the house occupied by the Reverend Jonathan Meek, who rescues the aerialist but begs her to remain until after dark so that his reputation will not be jeopardized. Meanwhile, the owner of the circus, Jerry McKeen, begins dragging the lake for the missing Mazie, believing her to be drowned. That afternoon, Meek's flock pays him a surprise visit and Mazie is discovered by Johnnie Bump, who precipitates a scandal. The church people are planning to run Mazie and her pink tights out of town when the church breaks out in flames and the aerialist risks her life to save Johnnie's. The townsfolk repent, Jerry finally finds his star performer and, realizing his loss, he proposes to her.
