Synopsis

Tired of gunfighting, Lish Henley retires to Peaceful Hill, California, but soon finds that the name of the town has nothing to do with the life style of the townspeople. Nevertheless, Lish is still tougher than anyone else, and so becomes known as "The Mediator," not because of his negotiating skills, but because of his willingness to keep killing members of opposing gangs until the ones still alive agree to a peace settlement. Then, Big Bill, an old enemy of Lish, comes to Peaceful Hill looking for The Mediator. With the aid of Maggie, a waitress who tosses him a revolver, Lish is able to subdue Bill at their first encounter and, later, round up Bill and his gang and hand them over to the authorities, after which Lish and Maggie are married.
